HPHS was a very mixed time for a 15 year old boy who moved into a home in Highland Park after Thanksgiving of Junior year. A few people were kind enough to welcome me, but as a whole I was not in any click during Junior year.
Senior year I was lucky to secure a good part in Student Stunts, became Sports Editor of the Year Book, and had some limited success on the Track team. It was a great improvement also for my social life at HPHS. For all of you who "accepted" me - a sincere thank you.
Life at the University of Michigan as an undergrad and law student was wonderful . As a late bloomer I had a successful academic and social life.
Since then I have practiced law as a name partner in two mid-sized firms, was President of a listed company, taught part time at Kent Law School for over 30 years, wrote many law related articles, and a 3 volume work published by a major house. Generally I have enjoyed a good business life.
I have a wonderful family life with my wife and three children who have made their way with successful professional and personal lives. The bonus is now 3 grandchildren .
Besides work, I have been involved as an active director in a many charitable and cultural organizations. The range is from Immigration and Resettlement charities to the Joffrey Ballet (and the only dance I do fairly well is the Twist) .It has been an amazing life with far more smiles and good fortune that I could have imagined in my wildest dreams.
I will be at a University of Michigan Law function the reunion weekend, so I cannot join all of you. My sincere thanks to those of you who were thoughtful and supportive to that skinny 15 year old who entered as a Junior in the fall of 1957.
